When Global Links staff visited Potosí, Bolivia, earlier this year, the director of the hospital was waiting for them in his office, an ambu in his hands. “This is one of the most important things you have sent us,” he said. Meanwhile, at that moment and unknown to the director, the hospital’s infant ventilator had failed, and an infant in the neonatal ward was being kept alive by staff with one of the donated ambus.
